With 27 years experience in the steel industry, Russell leads Tata Steel’s marketing and commercial strategy development across the European business.

An engineer by training, he started his career developing offshore oil and gas pipeline solutions operating in the North Sea, Africa and the Gulf of Mexico.

He later led the UK steel industry’s development plans for renewable energy taking roles on cross industry supply chain strategy groups.

Since 2013 he has led Tata Steel’s European commercial strategy development, and is also Chairman of the ISSB ltd. a company providing key steel industry trade statistics globally.
